The Basic Nursing Assistant Training Program curriculum is designed to prepare individuals to deliver direct client care, in long-term care facilities, home healthcare settings, clinics, doctor’s offices and hospitals, under the direction of a registered nurse. The course of study (131 hours of training) provides the opportunity to acquire knowledge and skills used by nursing assistants. Clinical training for all students is held at participating healthcare facilities.
After successful completion of the program, graduates will receive a certificate of completion and be eligible to sit for the Illinois state exam. NUR 100 meets the requirements and guidelines set by the State of Illinois Department of Public Health for Basic Nurse Assistant Programs.
Contact the Admissions Office for the current program tuition. Tuition includes: course materials, uniform with school patch, name tag, lab supplies, supervised clinical, CPR certification, state testing preparation and testing fee, and career counseling. To enroll in BNAT/CNA, make an appointment to visit our campus Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and
5 p.m. to speak with an Admissions Specialist. All students applying for admission must complete an interview with the program director and or faculty committee. The interview is designed to answer applicant's questions and help determine applicant’s motivation toward and understanding of the roles within the nursing profession. Admission status is determined after the interview.
A one-time student application must be submitted to enroll in any J´Reneé program. The application fee is $45. Payments are accepted in cash, check or credit card. Students may complete their applications in advance by utilizing the link below, or they may be completed on campus during their admissions appointment.
