J´Reneé recognizes that students are both citizens and members of an academic community. As a citizen, each student has the freedom of speech, assembly, association, and the press, and the rights of petition and due process that are guaranteed by the state and federal constitutions. As members of an academic community, students have the right and the responsibility to participate in the formulation and review of all the school regulations and policies directly affecting them. Upon enrolling in the school, each student assumes an obligation to conduct him/herself in a manner that is compatible with the school's function as an educational institution. If this obligation is neglected or ignored by the student, the school must, in the interest of fulfilling its function and meeting its total obligations, institute appropriate disciplinary action as allowed under school policy and the law.
